Syndication Announcement

Hello and welcome to the first Behind SouthWaves blog for 2019! I cannot promise anything, but I will try and keep this blog updated as regularly as I can. I can hardly believe that four years have sailed by since the original SouthWaves Radio was launched, it hardly seems real!

There has been a great amount of change to the brand in all that time, and all looks positive for the next year. Our switch to predominantly producing podcasts in 2018 was a surprising success, something we will be building on.

The End For The Pop Show

I have been heavily involved in producing music radio shows for the last eleven years, presenting hundreds of shows along the way. While I have had a great amount of pleasure from doing it, it has become something of a monotonous task in the last couple of years. A combination of time, money, audience figures and motivation have prompted me to decide on the future of syndicated music content at SouthWaves Audio.

It is with this feeling, that 2019 will be the year I gradually stop syndicating music radio; with the focus shifting to full-time podcast production. This means that The Pop Show will cease production, with a definite date to be confirmed.

This will be a disappointment to some, but I have my reasons for the decision. The radio landscape has changed since launching the show 5 years ago, and so has my attitude towards the medium. There always comes a time when it’s time for a change, and now felt like the right time.

I shall be turning my focus to the many speech and drama podcasts that we produce, with a couple of exciting projects to be announced soon!
